Survey Department

It is one of the efficient departments at the directorate since it accomplishes many different transactions including land surveying work or the issuance of maps that sanction the limits of streets and those of the granted or owned plots of land.

Tasks & Responsibilites

  • Protecting the planning form from encroachment and violations by demarcating the building signs of plots of land and streets.
  • Conducting detailed surveys of the emirate's regions.
  • Updating the geographical information systems by the detailed survey data.
  • Issuing plans for all types of lands and properties depending on the data of the field survey reports.
  • Completing all the real estate transactions related to merging, subdivision and installation.
  • Securing technical survey areas by implanting and intensifying the network of survey control points to cover the largest part of the emirate.
  • Preparing information on survey control points.
  • Issuing no-objection permits to remove control points and bring them back after carrying out the project.
  • Granting permits for drilling wells, installing metal fences for farms in agricultural lands.
  • Demarcating the building signs for the different real estates and making sure of the levels of the buildings under construction.
  • Marking out the tracks of service lines of different purposes.
  • Co-ordinating with design and engineering consultation offices by providing them with the survey data of real estate before starting the design work.
  • Showing the aesthetical shape of urban planning and dealing efficiently with the modified planning in vital areas.

Technical Co-ordination and Follow-up

The Technical Co-ordination and follow-up Division is assigned to remove the obstacles blocking the progress of transactions at the department and provide technical support to be a helping factor for taking the appropriate decision. It is also assigned to checking and reviewing the department's transactions.

  • Temporary maps and chroquis

  • Maps as per title deeds
  • Installation maps (as per the new planning)
  • Angle determination maps
  • Official maps
  • Storey subdivision maps (the separate units in a real estate)

Development and Updating

The department follows a continuous updating system to keep pace with the changes in the modern sciences and technology related to the survey sciences by using the latest high-precision survey equipment and developing the performance of its employees to meet the need for continuous increase in the department's transactions.
